Just a few days ago we saw a Xiaomi teaser around the launch of an updated version of their affordable laptop, the Mi Notebook Air. The small refresh was said to be the addition of 4G LTE connectivity with a launch date of 23 December, which is tomorrow.
However a new report is now suggesting that the upcoming laptop will not just be a tiny refresh, but will be a new addition to the existing lineup. If the latest leak is true, then Xiaomi might launch the Mi Notebook Pro. The ‘Pro’ moniker means that it will be the most high-end offering from the company.
Currently, the Mi Notebook Air offers an Intel i5 6200U CPU, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, an Nvidia 940MX graphics card and 256GB of storage with a 13.3 inch Full HD screen. The high-end specifications of the Pro could include a 4K display, Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor, Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M graphics card, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 512GB SSD. Now that’s a notebook we’d want!
Of course, it will come at a higher cost as well, with rumours suggesting a CNY 6,000, (around Rs 60,000) which is a lot more than the introductory pricing of the Mi Notebook Air, which starts at $520 (around Rs 35,000). It is still cheaper than most notebooks out there with a similar configuration, though.
Be sure to tune back in tomorrow for more information on the device.
