The R11 appears to have a dual-camera setup, which is located at the top left corner on the rear of the device, arranged horizontally, along with an LED flash sitting next to it. The camera module does offer a slight bump, protruding out of the body of the handset.

The source also says that the R11 recently received radio frequency approval. The approval reveals four models of the handset, OPPO R11t, OPPO R11 Plus, OPPO R11 Plust, and R11 Plusk. Xiaomi Mi 6: New leaks reveal box, front panel and hands-on images

Xiaomi Mi 6: New leaks reveal box, front panel and hands-on images

Xiaomi Mi 6 render. Image: Android Headlines
As the launch for Xiaomi’s next flagship draws closer, we are seeing more leaks emerging. In the past we had heard that it will feature the new Snapdragon 835 chipset, a dual camera setup and more. Today we have a more scoop around the device including some alleged hands-on pictures. Let’s go through them one by one.
Firstly there is the official box for the handset. Two different Weibo accounts have leaked two different coloured boxes of the handset. Both the boxes also have different specifications.
The specifications include a 5.15-inch display, Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45GHz, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For the cameras there is a 30MP sensor with optical image stabilisation at the back and an 8MP camera on the front. The box also mentions a 4,000mAh battery, dual SIM slots, and a USB Type-C port.

The second box which is the white one, mentions a 5.15-inch display with a 2.5D glass, a Snapdragon 835 processor with no mention of the clock speed. RAM on this version is 3GB while storage is 64GB. Even the camera is different, as the box mentions a 12MP rear shooter and a 4MP ultra pixel sensor on the front just like the Mi 5. Even the battery is smaller rating at 3,200mAh.

Rumours suggest the white box is probably the base variant while the black box is the higher ‘Pro’ variant.

Then we have an image of white and black front glass panels of the device. We can see that handset will have narrow bezels although the area on top and bottom are going to be fairly large. There are a bunch of openings above the display which are of course for the camera, earpiece and light sensors. It is being speculated that there is a third hole which could be for an iris scanner, but we have our doubts about that. Below the display is the opening for the front home button which has an oval shape. It is quite large and rumours suggest that the Mi 6 will feature an underglass ultrasonic fingerprint scanner used on the Mi 5S but with a fast sensor.

Finally there are a couple of leaked images of the handset itself, but this one is apparently the Mi 6 Plus. The leaked highly-glossy black coloured variant shows the front panel of Mi 6 Plus with narrow bezels. The physical home button placed below the display will also house the fingerprint scanner. At the back we can see a dual-camera setup with dual a LED flash arrangement. These to cameras are said to be a pair of 12 MP Sony IMX362 sensors.

Rumoured specifications of the Mi 6 Plus include a 5.7-inch full HD display, a Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4 GB of RAM while some also suggest 6 GB and 8 GB RAM variants. Other rumoured features include 64GB and 128GB storage options, going all the way up to 256 GB, and 8MP front camera, Android 7.0 Nougat with the latest edition of MIUI and a 4,500 mAh capacity battery. Pricing is said to start at 2,599 Yuan (Rs 26,000 approx) going all the way up to 3,499 Yuan (Rs 35,000 approx).

Asus Z01HDA smartphone with dual-camera setup clears TENAA

Asus Z01HDA smartphone with dual-camera setup clears TENAA

By
Taiwan based smartphone and IT product maker Asus will be launching a new smartphone soon. The information comes from Chinese telecommunication authority TENAA where an Asus handset with model number Z01HDA. It could be yet another ZenFone 3 smartphone from Asus and considering the time period, it should be announced at CES 2017.
According to the listing, the smartphone will be running on Snapdragon 625 chipset and will sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Memory options include 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB, with storage coming in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. The dual-lens camera setup is clearly visible at the back and the handset’s Bluetooth SIG listing mentions 12.2MP+13MP . It also has the ZenFone 3 Zoom moniker, which means it could be an update to the ZenFone Zoom.
A 13MP unit is said to be on the front, while the battery is rated at 4,850mAh which is definitely huge. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back and the smartphone will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. Colour variants would include Navy Black, New Crafts Silver and Luxury Gold color options.
If the smartphone does become a reality, it will be the first dual-lens camera equipped smartphone from Asus. Also since the original ZenFone Zoom tried to bring a loseless zoom experience on a smartphone, we can assume that the purpose of the dual-lens setup on the upcoming smartphone would be to add digital zoom without any quality loss.

Huawei P10 curved display variant leaks in renders

Huawei P10 curved display variant leaks in renders

By
Huawei is one of the global leaders in the smartphone market thanks to its respectable phones. While their budget segment Honor range has been a decent seller, their high-end devices like the Huawei P9 and the Nexus 6P did impress the masses.
Huawei is expected to announce the update to the dual-camera lens equipped P9 smartphone somewhere next year and leaks have already begun. According to a recent render leak, the company might bring in a curved variant of the P10. There is a possibility that the company might go the Samsung way by announcing a curved and a standard display variant of the smartphone. Whatever be the case, the render does look genuine.
Apart from the dual-lens camera setup, we can see the Leica branding just like the the P9. Which means that Huawei will once again capitalise on the popular camera brand association. Alleged specifications of the smartphone were seen on a GFX benchmark listing pointing a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a Huawei Kirin 960 processor. It will also feature 6GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, which is presumed to be expandable via microSD. Other lower RAM and storage variants are also expected.
While the render clearly shows the Leica branding, there is a possibility that Huawei will bump up the resolution of the camera to 16MP. Expect an announcement around of the smartphone somewhere around Q2 of 2017.

Samsung will start testing the Galaxy S8 in January 2017 and might actually ship the device by March

Samsung will start testing the Galaxy S8 in January 2017 and might actually ship the device by March

By
It’s not been a good year for Samsung, what with their other flagship, the Note 7, going up in flames the world over and even its washing machines punching through walls.
Samsung needs a win and it needs it badly. As far as the Note 7 is concerned, the company decided to swallow the bitter pill and just can the product. Shifting their focus to the Galaxy S8 and a potential Note 8 does seem like the right move.
It’s now come to light the company intends to begin testing the Galaxy S8 smartphone in January. A report on The Investor says, “Key suppliers are required to provide an initial batch of their parts for the Galaxy S8 from January.” The report also quoted a supplier as saying that “full volume” shipping will start in February.
It was earlier rumoured that Samsung would forgo its traditional MWC announcement and launch the phone in April, but suppliers apparently think that the phone will make its MWC debut in February and ship soon after, in March.
As far as the device itself is concerned, the most prevalent rumours describe a phone with a Snapdragon 830 SoC, a 5.1-inch 2K display, a dual-camera setup on the rear and a screen to body ratio of a whopping 90 percent. Another highlight is expected to be the debut of Samsung’s own AI assistant, a la Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant. This assistant is also rumoured to get a button all to itself on the S8.
